Two separate incidents. Two different teams. Same outcome: internal material that was never meant to be public, now public.
First, 512,000 lines of Claude Code's source were exposed through a packaging error. Then, draft documents for an unreleased model called Mythos appeared in an unsecured database. Cybersecurity stocks dropped 3-7% when that second one landed.
A company known for being the careful one in AI now has two disclosure incidents in the same news cycle.

Anthropic Leaked Its Own Playbook. Twice.
Two incidents. One week. Both Anthropic's doing.
First: a packaging error exposed 512,000 lines of Claude Code's internal TypeScript. The repo hit 25,000 stars on GitHub within hours. Anthropic confirmed no user data was breached.
What the code revealed matters more than the embarrassment.
Claude Code is not a model with a terminal wrapper. It is a full agent operating system: custom permissions, streaming tool execution, Git worktree isolation, and a memory system built around 150-character pointers. The source also contained a fully built companion system called Buddy, a Tamagotchi-style AI pet with 18 species and stats including chaos and wisdom. Nobody knows what it was for.
Then, one day later: a CMS default made 3,000 unpublished documents public. Among them, draft descriptions for a model called Mythos, positioned above Opus and described as "dramatically ahead of any other AI model in cyber capabilities." Cybersecurity stocks fell 3-7%.
